Why We Rebranded Our Domain

After operating under digitalfortificationsgroup.com for some time, we decided it was time for a change. The domain name served us well — but let’s face it: it was long. Too long.

Typing it out in emails, browser bars, and contact forms became tedious. It didn’t roll off the tongue. And in today’s digital world, a sharp, memorable domain name matters.

What Stayed the Same

  • Our full name is still Digital Fortifications Group LLC
  • Our focus on security, privacy, and digital defense hasn’t changed
  • Our services, values, and team are still rock solid

What Changed

  • Our primary domain is now dfghq.com
  • All emails now use @dfghq.com (e.g., [email protected])
  • Our website has been fully migrated and re-secured using HTTPS
  • Visitors to the old domain are automatically redirected to the new one

The Technical Steps We Took

If you're into the behind-the-scenes details, here’s a quick overview of what we did:

  1. Purchased the new domain and configured DNS through Cloudflare
  2. Created a dedicated Apache virtual host for dfghq.com and www.dfghq.com
  3. Issued SSL certificates using Certbot to fully support HTTPS
  4. Redirected all traffic from digitalfortificationsgroup.com to dfghq.com
  5. Updated all internal links and email addresses site-wide
  6. Tested the new domain, ensured it was secure, and made it the new official home of DFG
